On September 26, 2019 my car broke down on the side of the road in Atlanta. A few minutes later, a man in a black Army shirt and a bucket hat made his way over to my car. His name was Milton. For the next hour Milton stayed by my side. He shared his life and his dreams with me and I learned that he himself was an entrepreneur.
Whether Milton was really in need or he was making a living panhandling, I believe that God placed him on that road for a purpose. God used Milton to open my eyes to the 3,000+ people living on the streets of Atlanta. In the days following I couldn’t stop thinking about Milton and I seemed to notice more and more people on the streets. My heart broke for them and I knew I needed to do something to help.
In June 2020, Milton’s Boutique was born. I decided to use my broken heart and my passion (fashion) as a vehicle for change. My dream is to one day have my own organization that can help first hand, but until then Milton’s Boutique gives back to organizations that already exist. Everytime you shop at Milton’s Boutique you are making an impact and helping organizations like Hope Vibes get one step closer to ending homelessness.
